Profile of the Bahrain Men’s National Team
In 1975 the Kingdom of Bahrain witnessed the first men’s Handball National Team. The team represented Bahrain in the 1st Arab championship held in Egypt. After that the men’s national team participated in various tournaments at Gulf, Arab and Asian regional levels. In their participation, the team achieved:
1. Champion of 2nd Arab championship in 2002 – Jordon. 2. Champion of 1st Gulf championship, 2004 – Qatar. 3. Champion 3rd Gulf championship, 2009 – Oman. 4. 2nd position in the Men’s Asian championship, 2010 – Lebanon.
Since the Bahrain men’s national team was established, a number of their players have obtained recognition for skill such as ; Nabeel Taha, International lecturer in handball coaching ; Bader Mirza – Handball coach . Now Saeed Jawher he is a captain of the national team and he's the one of the best player in the Asia he scored in the Saudi national team last 7 second in the Lebanon 2010 which we reached in the world cup and his shirt number 1. The Bahrain national team consists of a large number of youth players, and Sae4ed Jouher is considered the most experienced player. This team obtained the gold medal in the Gulf championship that took place in Oman, and the silver medal in the 14th Asian championship that qualified them for the world cup, which will take place in Sweden 2011.
